Dog Boarding
Each of Powderhouse's 76 dog run features an indoor heated and air conditioned run in addition to it's adjoining covered outdoor run. There are separate wings for smaller dogs keeping them separated from the larger dogs. Each dog is taken out several times a day.

Deanna Bodie - Kennel Manager
Deanna Bodie has been surrounded by pets of all kinds ever since childhood. As a child she dreamed of working with animals and having her own farm someday. As a teenager, that dreamed came true as she had the pleasure of working with animals starting in the 1980s with Kandy Boatwright, former owner of Powderhouse Pet Resort, in a small one-room grooming shop. She started working there as a bather.
As Kandy's business grew, an expansion was desperately needed, and the business was relocated in 1986 to what is now Powderhouse Pet Resort. This gave Deanna the priviledge and opportunity to train and become a groomer for Kandy.
As life changes occurred such as marriage an kids, her career changed as she became a stay at home Mom. Missing the animal field, she and her husband followed her first dream and brought their first farm with horses, goats, chickens, geese, guineas, dogs and parrots.
She had the opportunity to come back to Powderhouse as a permanent position became availablefor her. She was able to return to her true passion for working and caring for your pets needs. It is a truly rewarding experience for her, and she looks forward to everyday she has with pets.
Breann Staubs
Breann became a bright spot with a summer job at Powderhouse in 2008 helping in the kennel and playtime. She is staying on part-time while attending school full-time at the University of South Carolina at Aiken.
Kellyn Atkins
Kellyn's smiling face is a playtime and swimtime attendant at Powderhouse. She loves playing with the dogs, watching them swim, and getting to know them on a one-on-one basis.
Austin Bodie
Austin Bodie grew up with Powderhouse. His mother, Aunt, and cousin also work here at the resort, and they all have a true love for animals. Austin lives on his parent's farm and helps take care of their horses, goats, chickens, bunnies, guineas, dogs, and parrots. His other interests include motorcross riding as well as he is active in many school activities. He has two years in NJROTC as well as being on the robotics team.
This young man is a definite asset to the resort.
Stephanie Creasman
Stephanie has been employed with PPR since July 2010. She has such a big heart rescuing and caring for strays that have been tossed aside. She opens her heart and devotes her time to nurse these animals. She is a great asset here at powderhouse as her love for animals flows right into the care of all your pets that come and stay with us. We are so lucky to have her aboard she looks forward to taking care of your precious pets.
